Blood.

It was the first thing that he woke up to. The sweet scent of human blood. And this one distinguished his mate's blood.

Screams and cries echoed in the room, as the sound of whips and insaned laughters joined the music of Agony.

The red-head male gritted his fanged teeth and clenched his fists, annoyed at the fact that he couldn't do anything to save her.. that he was chained up... and that he was weak at the moment.

"Oiiii.. You monster.." A hand roughly gripped the red-head's jaw and raised his head. His eyes landed on a sight that made the rage in him bubble up but all he could do was close his eyes. "Ehh?? Why don't you look at your bride?? It's the prettiest sight I've ever seen, you know..."

The red-head snarled and tried to bite off the man's wrist but he missed since this guy quickly withdrew his hand.

"You fucking demon." The guy snarled and delivered him a painful blow on the cheek.

"Answer me, you piece of sh*t." The man growled and gave him a steel punch on the stomach. The red-head coughed out blood, pain spreading throughout his body.

The torture continued on but the physical blows he recieved were nothing compared to the screams his bride cried. Unlike him, he could heal at a rather fast pace but she... she healed slower.... and sometimes it doesn't heal at all.

'I'm sorry...' He thought over and over, shutting his eyes tightly. 'I'm so sorry.'

--

"SEIJUUROU!!" The (h/c) haired girl cried, as she felt the sting of the whip hitting her body. She was feeling lightheaded due to the heavy loss if blood and she wanted to die already but... she can't leave Akashi. Tears sprung on the corner of her eyes as she closed her eyes at another impact of excruciating pain flooding her senses.

The female couldn't remember how they came to be here, but all she could reminisce was how peaceful she and Akashi lived. So instead of thinking about the pain she was recieving, she thought about all the moments she had with her red headed, immortal husband.

Her cries of pain seemed to lessen, so did her breathing. Akashi had sensed all of this and he was starting to panic. He started to struggle from the chains holding him, failing from time to time.

"STOP! UNTIE ME NOW!" Akashi yelled, attracting his torturer's attention. The man who had been whipping his mate just smirked and let go of the whip.

"Lookie here, Karlos.. This demon's ordering us around." He spoke and smirked devilishly. "Shall we punish him?"

"Ehh? But how do we do that, Leo??" The guy named Karlos mockingly asked, knowing what was running in Leo's mind. Leo hummed and stared at the half conscious body of the female, and grinned devilishly, the lust swirling in those demonic eyes of his.

"No.." Akashi had noticed the change of the man's expression as it clicked in his mind. "DON'T YOU DARE LAY A HAND ON HER!"

"Too bad, you can't stop me." The man laughed diabolically. "Besides... She has a really pretty body. I'll have my fun on her before I kill you." He trailed a hand over the half-unconscious female's body and later on, Akashi's shouts of pleas echoed around the room, joining his mate's pained shrieks.

--

The red head male sat up abruptly with a gasp, his heart pounding like stampeding horses and was sweating all over. His eyes frantically roamed around his room, searching for danger when there was none.

When he sensed none, he let out a shaky sigh, running his hand through his already messed up hair.

He swung his legs to the side of the bed and walked out into the balcony to calm himself.

Every night, every second of his sleep... Her screams of agony haunted him through the past decades he lived after that incident.

The pain flooding over his chest didn't cease at all as time passed by and that memory was stamped at the back of his mind. He couldn't shake it off, he thought--knew that it was his fault no matter how you look at it.

If he wasn't a vampire, if he wasn't a royal, if he wasn't the next heir to the throne... If she had never met him, she would still be alive. His hands gripped the railing at the thought, nearly breaking the steel bars.

She would have been safe, living peacefully in this wretched world, she could have a lover who she would care for, to love and to be in his arms... If he just wasn't a MONSTER.

"Ouji-sama." A voice called from behind Akashi, who came back to his senses and turned to look at a certain greenette.

"What do you want, Shintaro?" Akashi asked coldly as he looked back at the view of endless trees and mountains, gripping the railings infront of him, his knuckles already turning white.

"Is it the same nightmare?" Midorima asked. Akashi chuckled humorlessly and looked back at Midorima with a bitter smirk on his face.

"What do you think?" He sneered. A snap was heard and Akashi looked back at the railing he was gripping awhile back, that was now crushed into dust. The anger was consuming him and he was trying his best not to go on a rampage and accidentally kill anyone.

"Ouji-sama, you should move---"

"It's harder than you think." Akashi growled as his sharp eyes glared at the greenette, cutting off Midorima's sentence. "You don't know how hard it is. To... To... To forget (F/--)... her..." He couldn't even bring up her name. His breathing starts to get uneven as he kicked the railing that flew away from his strength. "I can't! I can't forget her! SHE'S PART OF ME!"

"Moving on doesn't mean you need to forget her, Seijuurou." Midorima quickly countered, not bothering to call him a prince. "As a friend, I'm only telling you to accept the fact that she's... gone."

Akashi tried evening his breathing. His emotions were getting to him, and he wanted to drag those bastards back from hell and kill them over and over. Unfortunately, He's still a decade young to do just that.

Akashi sighed in exasperation and crouched down, his hands tangling through his messy, crimson hair. He kept silent and made no movements, only staring into the oblivion as tears were rolling down his cheeks.

Midorima walked up to him, his shoes creating clicking sounds on the marble floor. The greenette patted his friend's back in comfort.

"Take your time and take a step forward. And once another wall comes your way, find a way past through it." Midorima said. "You always do."

He sighed and vanished through thin air without another word. Tears started dropping over the marble floor.

But how?

[ Your Point of View ]

As a ghost, and the one with an unfinished business, you stayed on Earth and watched over the one you love. It pained you that Akashi was hurting and lost which was really unlike him, and you couldn't be there for him because... you're translucent, invisible... and all the synonyms of the former word.

Anger, sadness, coldness and agony was always written in those heterochromatic eyes that was once filled with love and care. You had always blamed yourself for damaging this precious person, but you made it your quest to do everything you can to help him move on... from you.

You watched as he sat on his swivel chair infront of his paper-stacked desk, reading contracts and doing paperwork.

Your ghost-self only sat on the couch a few steps from the desk, with your knees hugged near your chest.

"Sei-kun..." Your words only echoed throughout the room. A defeated sigh escaped your lips, knowing that it went unheard. You the placed your bare feet on the carpet and stood up, the hem of your white dress flowing down to your knees.

You walked up to the busy redheaded male before sitting on a blank spot of his desk and stared at him.

Even though he has the dark bags under his eyes and the scowl that seems to be his now permanent expression, he was still undenyingly handsome.

His sharp, red and yellow-gold eyes that once gazed at you lovingly now focused on his paperwork. His soft, crimson hair were now cut unevenly over his forehead. His kissable lips that once peppered you with sweet pecks all over your face were pressed into a frustrated thin line and his soft, pale skin that were velvet to your touch.... Your heart clenched painfully, missing everything about him all the more. You missed the feeling of him loving you.

"I miss you..." You gently touched his hand that was frantically but elegantly writing on a contract but your hand only passed by and landed on the paper. He was still continuing his work. You looked back at his face.

You wanted to give him a tight hug even though your earlier actions proved that nothing was going to happen, but you wanted to give it a try.

So you jumped down the desk and walked infront of him, inbetween his arms. Your fingertips gently carressed his cheek before you wrapped your arms around his body but you were still 5 millimeters away from his skin. You were a little bit happy, though. You could feel the warmth coming from him and you enjoyed the fact that you were not passing through him.

But you didn't expect what happened next.

He froze and tensed up after your arms snaked its way around him as he then looked up, somehow staring directly into your eyes.

He softly let go of his pen and you saw his eyes waver and soften up.

Slowly... he leaned forward into your chest.

Tears started forming on the corner of your eyes, as you 'buried' your nose into his crimson hair and closed your (e/c) eyes. A drop of your tear rolled down your cheek and landed on his hair.

Hesitantly, you pulled away from him and leaned down, seeing a devastated expression on his face, as if he still wants to feel your hug again even though he couldn't see you.

"I love you, Sei-kun..." You murmured and gently gave him a soft kiss on the lips before you then felt as if you were being tugged away and a light showing behind you.

You pulled away from Akashi and saw he had fat tears rolling down his cheeks as he then slowly but shakily raised an arm. You were confused, furrowing your eyebrows since you didn't understand what he was trying to do. That is until, his hand touched your cheek.

"(F/N)....?" He asked, reassuring as he stared into the (e/c) hues he fell so hard for. Those eyes widened in surprise but a small smile rose from your lips.

"Sei-kun..."

A broken sob escaped his throat as his free hand wrapped its way around your waist and pulled you into a hug. Fortunately, you didn't pass through him.

"I-I'm so s-sorry...." He started bawling, burying his face into your shoulder. One of his hand gripped your waist tightly but gently, and the other tangling into your hair.

"I-It's all my f-fault.. I should've.. I should've..!"

"Shh..." You hushed him and pulled away, tears were streaming down your cheeks as well. "None of it was your fault. Don't blame yourself."

"How can I not blame myself?" Akashi breathed out, lost and disturbed as the memories of you dying in his arms flashed at the back of his mind. He clutched the dress you were wearing, wanting to relieve all the pain. "I-If only we haven't met th-then you---"

"Seijuurou!" You scolded quickly, cutting off Akashi's sentence. He went still and stared at your face.

"Don't you ever say that! If only I haven't met you, you think I would be happy?! I could have lived loving somebody else? I could have loved another person rather than loving you?! Do you really think I would have been happy if I haven't met you?! Then why do I feel happy for all the times we spent together? Why do I feel those emotions when I'm with you? Have you forgotten all our memories together, huh Sei-kun? Have you?" You say as tears continue to flow down your cheeks. "Think of the times we spent when I was alive. Think of those times when we were together... Have you ever felt my regret from meeting you... from loving you? Never..."

"(F/N)..." he whispers out then soon came to his mind the memories he had with you... The way your hair bounced softly as you run to the meadow you both only knew... The way your harmonious laugh echoed through his home... And the way your eyes sparkled at the simple act of him saying 'I love you.' He never felt the fear, the regret... He never did... Was he this stupid to realize it just now?

"Always remember this, Sei-kun... I'm more than happy that I have met you. I love every year, every hour, every second that we had spent together... and I love you still. Nothing will ever change that. Even if I'm not with you physically, just think about our memories and I will be with you. Stop blaming yourself from what happened. Don't break yourself Seijuurou because it pains me more seeing you breaking yourself." Then you feel yourself slowly rising up. Seeing this, Akashi quickly stood and tried to reach out your hand, but failed. You were drifting away again. Even if you were just in arms reach.

"(F/N)!"

"Continue to live with the smile I've known, Sei-kun. Continue to live until you meet someone whom you will share that smile of yours as what you had with mine."

"(F/N)! Don't! Don't leave me... please... I love you..."

"I love you... always... Seijuurou... Always..."

"And that was the last time he saw her..."

"Ehhhh???? B-But why did the Ghost Princess left the Vampire Prince???" A young girl around 6 years asked pouting. Akashi chuckled at her daughter's tone and fixed the stray hair poking out of her head.

"Because the Ghost Princess was needed back in her castle above." He explained simply.

"You mean she's an angel?"

"... You can say it that way..." Akashi huffed. The girl hummed, trying to understand the situation before crawling up to her father's lap. The redhead adjusted his arms to hold her.

"Then what happened to the Vampire Prince???" She asked curiously. At that moment, he blinked and a soft smile rose from his lips.

"Like the Ghost Princess said, he will meet someone who he can smile with... who he can love again...

"After that certain event, the Vampire Prince was devastated once more, but the more that he kept himself locked inside, the more his kingdom fell. So his friend, the Phantom Prince, helped him up by making the Vampire Prince accept his fate in love. The Phantom Prince said, "You won't get anywhere by moping around. That's not the Vampire Prince that I know."

"The Vampire realized his stupid and reckless actions, so he got up slowly, and thanked his friend. He started to regain his reputation, and his sanity. But the depression was still in him, spreading throughout his body. His health was affected, so the palace was alerted by it. He was bedridden for 3 days even though he never felt the pain.

"After a year, he was walking down the bridge at the East Garden when he met a girl by the Emperor's Lake who was focused on catching the Emperor fish. He remembered that a girl was reported trying to fish by the lake for... a month now. He asked, "Why are you so persistent when you know you won't get it?"

"The girl turned in surprise, and then glared at the Vampire Prince, ignoring the fact that he was royalty. She answered, "I only want to know what it looks like..."

"But you can just look at the books at the archive, right?" The Vampire Prince stated.

"I want to see it with my own eyes..." She mumbled lowly. "You can never know if the information at the archive is accurate."

He was slightly interested by her strong will so he sat beside her, every day, at the same spot and at the same time. They got to know each other more, and little did they know that their feelings were slowly being captured by the other. The Vampire Prince denied that feeling because he still loves the Ghost Princess but... he always remembered that final night.

"Continue to live with a smile I known for Sei-kun. Continue to live until you meet someone whom you will share that smile of yours as what you did with mine."

One night, he went to the lake when he received a letter from the girl, and saw that she wasn't wearing her usual outfit-"

"She was wearing a pretty yukata, right, Papa??" The bundle of angel in Akashi's arms interrupted him, since the girl knew this part of the story. He smiled.

"She was wearing a-"

"Pink yukata with gold accents and a flowery pattern!"

"The Vampire Prince froze at the sight of the girl as her hair swayed along the wind. He was enchanted, as if in a spell, and his frozen heart beated once more. Once he regained his posture, he walked up to her. The girl had faint pinkish cheeks, and her eyes sparkled like jewels.

"The girl confessed that she was in love with the prince, and-"

"The Prince also confessed that he had fallen for her~~"

"Yes... and after two years of him courting her, he proposed and she said yes."

"Then they had a child named (F/N) and lived happily ever afteeerr~~!!!" The (h/c) haired girl in his arms cheered. "That is always the best part of the story, Papa... But do you think the Ghost Princess is happy for the Vampire Prince??"

Akashi stared at his daughter, who was a reincarnation of (F/N). She had her (h/c) hair, her (s/c) skin complexion, and her (e/c) eyes that always shimmered. She was the reflection of his first mate; even their attitude matched. He and his second-chance mate was surprised at the unexpected blessing but accepted her nonetheless. The redhead smiled once more and gave the (h/c)-ette child an eskimo kiss, making the girl giggle and push him away.

"I would like to know too."

~#~

"Neh, Ghost Princess-san, you still love Vampire Prince, right?"

You smiled at your child doppelganger who was whispering quietly.

"Of course I do." You answered.

"You're not mad that he has another Princess??"

"No... Why?"

"Because... I promise to take care of Papa and Mama and myself so that you would be happy, Ghost Princess-san~!" You widened your eyes slightly but chuckled.

"You do that, I'll watch over you all. But remember to do this so that you all stay happy and not for me, 'kay~?"

"O~kay~!"

The two of you gave each other sheepish grins, giggling softly before looking back at the sleeping red head on bed. The child quietly ran back under the covers and snuggled into her father's chest with a bright smile. Akashi only wrapped his arm around the child tighter, releasing out a sigh of contentment. You smiled happily and walked out of the room and back to the light, your white dress flowing softly as you left him once again, but now, you weren't leaving him in tears like before... But he was happy with a new, refreshing life. You looked back and saw the smile on both of their faces.

"I'm happy that you're happy, Sei-kun."
